STRESS REDUCTION TRAINING

Stress Reduction Training Offered

Stress reduction training can help reduce the intensity and degree of stress reactions in your body and ultimately help prevent additional harmful stress over-reactions.

Five General Elevated Stress Reaction Symptoms Include:
  • Subjective experience of distress such as tension, anxiety, and worry
  • Physical symptoms to stress such as increased blood pressure, tension headaches, stomach pain/discomfort)
  • Responding to stress with maladaptive habits such as smoking, drinking, overeating
  • Experiencing a decline in performance
  • Increased conflicts with people or decreased satisfaction in personal relationships
To effectively reduce stress, you must be able to:
  • Become awake, aware and alert to the initial signs of stress reactions
  • Develop and foster basic stress management skills
  • Practice and apply stress management skills in real life
At Anjuna, our providers coach patients on how to develop life-long stress management skills:
  • Relaxation via deep breathing techniques, relaxation imagery, tension-relaxation contrasts, cue-controlled relaxation, mindful awareness training
  • Cognitive techniques rooted in the concepts of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR)
  • Behavioral changes that break deeply rooted maladaptive stress habits that negatively affect interpersonal situations
  • Narrative reconstruction by understanding the context of past hurts, future worries and where these thoughts fit into the present moment

The stress reduction skills used in the Anjuna Stress Reduction clinic are founded in scientific research, have been rigorously studied since the late 1970s, and are evidence-based therapeutic methods that make significant clinical impacts in as little as eight weeks of formal practice and coaching. If you feel that you could benefit from stress reduction training, please call and inquire with our team.
